Sophie Rose & Caity Jo — Minted

Sophie Rose

and

Caity Jo

Wedding Party

Don + Rhonda Heap

Parents of the Bride

Rhonda and I are so excited for Caity and Sophie! From a young age, Caity was always a standout at whatever she put her mind to. This lead her on many adventures over the last several years as a Professional Soccer player. There is nothing that this girl can't do. We love her and we are very proud of her.

When Sophie came into Caity’s life it was obvious that this was a great match. They are both intelligent, beautiful women that are driven in everything they do. We know they will be successful in their relationship and in life.

To Rhonda and me our family is everything. I see this in Sophie and her family as well. Scott and Holly raised a wonderful human being. We can't wait to see what the future has in store for these two. We love you both very much!

Scott Lynn

Father of the Bride

I am filled with joy for Sophie & Caity who have found happiness together! Caity and The Heap Clan are a welcomed addition to our sprawling family. We look forward to many good times together and blessings,

Holly Lynn

Mother of the Bride

Where do I begin. From the moment Sophie was put in my arms I knew I had given birth to a very special girl. She has blessed us with her beauty inside and out. Her funny sense of humor, creativity and skills in the kitchen are one of a Top Chef.

Not only am I lucky enough to have her for my daughter she’s also my best friend.

Caity is a dream come true. She’s beautiful, smart and can kick one mean soccer ball!!

I love the way she loves Sophie and makes her happy.

I couldn’t ask for a better daughter in law.

I’m looking forward to Sophie and Caitys future together.

Rachel Renales

Maid of Honor

To start from the beginning, Sophie and I met in an early morning Spanish class during our first semester of our bachelors degrees in 2017. My hopes of being able to conjugate a verb died quickly but like a Phoenix from the ashes rose a friendship that would shape the person I am to this day. The story of our first interaction was very telling of how our friendship would evolve, a spontaneous question and an instant “let’s do it” response. And so began a friendship that I will cherish and foster for the rest of my life.

We spent that first day wandering under the Poughkeepsie bridge, talking about life and existence. Soon, Ana Banushi joined us and thus began one of the best summers of my life.

Mornings began with Sophie, emerging from her loft to find Ana and I curled up on the cough, walking outside onto her porch, completely naked, to check the weather and give us a report. Mornings were spent in class, afternoons spent running around soccer fields, evenings spent doing interpretive dance in our respective corners of Sophie’s cottage and nights spent in deep introspection around the kitchen table. We existed in this perfect harmony, finding ourselves in the minds and imaginations of each other. We danced, we cried, we laughed, we experienced the purest forms of love and friendship. We shared things we had never told anyone before. I can still smell the flowers that were blooming around campus on the day that Sophie and I came out to each other. Each of us scared of what the other would say, hoping that it wouldn’t effect our friendship. Only to find out that we were both in the same boat.

Upon our graduations we both began our lives on opposite sides of country. Ana and I in Brooklyn and Sophie in Dallas. This deep connection that we had kindled morphed into a relationship that we knew no distance could ever test. With every major decision and obstacle in our lives, came a phone call, to hear the valued opinion of the other. I can still vividly remember the night in early fall of 2020 when Sophie called me to tell me about this beautiful girl she was seeing. I was sitting in the middle of Times Square, looking at the billboards, and thinking to myself, “she found the one”. She had expressed how this girl made her feel complete, loved, valued. All of the things that Sophie had been searching for for the entire time I knew her. We reflected on all of the trials and tribulations of past relationships, fears and misgivings about the future. Talking through worst case scenarios and best case scenarios. How deeply I had hoped that this would be the best case scenario that Sophie had been manifesting and hoping for. It was.

The pride I feel for my best friend for following her heart and actualizing the future she has seen for herself for so long is like no other. I am so proud to have the opportunity to stand beside her and Caity, to support them, to shower them in all of the love they deserve.

Best Man

Soccer has brought me some very special life long friends, with Caity being of no exception. We first met at the beginning of 2021 while training for our upcoming soccer seasons, and now, I consider Caity to be my sister.

I have so many fond memories with Caity and Sophie that it’s genuinely so difficult to pick just one. Soccer tennis, work, casino trip, bars, traveling - no matter what it is that we do, I enjoy every second of my time spent with this special couple!

Caity and I met at MJP (Michael Johnson Performance) our friendship grew there from our competitive spirit to get better in each of our sports. As time passed our friendship grew more and more, also trying to help each other out with the mental side of competition. I’m thankful to have a wonderful friend with such a big heart and passion for just being able to live life to the fullest!

Caity and I met through the world of soccer. First time we met was at ODP then played against each other in high school and club. Finally, we got to be on the same team in college at Texas Tech. Like I always say, you are the life long friend that snuck up on me haha!

Sophie and I met day one at culinary school. We became closer as schooling went on and continued to explore fine dining establishments to eat, drink and find inspiration. Some of my favorite memories is trying new recipes and cooking food in her tiny kitchen for all of us to try. Our friendship continued to get stronger while getting our bachelors degree. So excited to be part of this special day for Sophie and Caity!

I think one of my favorite memories of Caity and I is when she was rehabbing from an injury at the Houston Dash. She would come into the training room everyday and I always said “hello beautiful” and one day I just said hello and Caity asked if she wasn't beautiful anymore. It was funny and I’ve always remembered it. She make it so easy to be myself and was always there for me. I remember when Caity first started talking to Sophie and how much she made her brighten up. It’s been amazing to watch them fall in love and find eachother. You two are amazing together and it’s an honor to part of your celebration!

Melanie McKenzie

Bridesmaid

Sophie and I met back in 2013 on a service trip in Costa Rica and immediately became friends, or as we’d say, “sloth sistas.” We saw lots of sloths down there. She lived in Texas and I lived in New York, but she reached out when she applied for culinary school upstate and we reconnected about 2 years later. Once she moved up to New York, we continued to make great memories together.

I’ll always remember our adventurous moments like camping in December in New York during a winter storm watch, skydiving, and road tripping in the southwest. She’s always ready to have a good time, which can be achieved in many ways—by being in a new place, spending time with friends of hers or mine, or teasing me by doing things like driving donuts in her Mini Cooper.

Even though we haven’t been in the same place for a while, every time we reconnect it’s like no time has passed. I can’t wait to celebrate her and Caity!!

My friendship with my sister…hmmm where do even begin?? I’ll keep it short and sweet. We were a typical brother sister duo constantly at each other’s necks until into our high school years. That’s when things changed and we began to build our relationship instead of terrorize eachother constantly. Sophie is now one of my best friends and we understand eachother on a level most people never get to feel. Plus, we’re continuing to build what I would call a very non typical brother sister relationship where we’re lucky enough to share a vision for how to design a business around our professional and global philosophies. Being able to share in eachothers professional processes continues to be a challenge and an opportunity.

On the Caitlynn side, I’ve been blessed with instead of a brother in law to have as a cohort in shanigans…a level headed, slightly cautious, and extremely practical Super Sister. Memories with Caity have only just begun and I’m excited for all of the things we will experience together.

Tess Gilboux

Bridesmaid

Hi I’m Tess. So aside from Sophie’s family I might have everyone beat on how I know the bride. I met Sophie in pre k at creme de la crème which translates to the best of the best & to be cliche that’s how I view Sophie and I’s friendship, it has been, and will always be, the best of the best. From the moment we met I knew I would know her for the rest of my life. There’s not a time we’ve been together that we haven’t been laughing. All the way back to pre K where we almost missed the bus for the field trip or when we were in the plane on the way to Colorado laughing at my sister being afraid of flying through a mountain range, or on that same trip we put your brothers tooth brush in the toilet. & even all the times at your parents old houses we would stay up till the morning talking about everything under the sun, knowing we’d wake up to orange cinnamon rolls in the morning. I can’t count how many laughs we’ve shared in the past 10 or so years but I am grateful for every one. Sophie is a genuine, kind, and amazing person and I’m so glad to call her a friend for life!

Miguel Cisneros

Bridesman

Hi, I’m Miguel, but anybody who knows me through Sophie knows me by her nickname for me, Miggy. I met Sophie six years ago at my first kitchen job, at a restaurant called Sprezza. I remember one time, I was cutting carrots and she complimented me on my excellent brunois technique, and then moments later made fun of me for not knowing the name of the technique. From there, she took me under her wing and taught me things I needed to grow in my profession, and we developed a friendship in the process. When we both parted ways with Sprezza, she hired me at her new restaurant, Trova.

During that time, she taught me a lot, and we became a team in the kitchen. During some of the busiest dinner services, we would be working on the line, talking about this professional soccer player she’d started dating, and I don’t remember the exact words she always used, but I remember “automatic connection,” and the word “smitten.” I finally met Caity when Sophie brought her to an industry party, and she fit so seamlessly into our group, laughing and having a good time with all of us, that I knew then that my dear friend Sophie had found someone incredibly special.

Fast forward a few years, and I’m Sophie’s sous chef at Taste Test. I get to do what I love with one of my best friends and her future wife, who has quickly become one of my favorite people, too. Caity and I enjoy giving Sophie a hard time while we work building this new business. It’s been an honor to witness—and play a supporting role—in Soph & Caity’s love story.

Jenny here!

From Indian princesses in kindergarten to middle school basketball (or Spanish class and we can even throw in dance team), Sophie has always been my partner in crime. Not only is she one of those friends you can always pick up where you left off with, but you can also count on her making you laugh until you cry.. then laugh some more. These past 20 years I've been so lucky to have someone so caring and inspiring to not only go on velvet taco runs with, but call my best friend. Cheers to many happy years and summer beers!!

Sophie and I first met through our brothers. They were on some team together, and as a result, we became fast friends in kindergarten. Since then, I have always considered Sophie like a sister – arguing like sisters when we were little (we were very competitive), to putting on shows together over Passover, to family trips in Colorado, to now 20 years later seeing her get married! No matter how long it has been since we’ve last seen each other, it is like no time has passed. Sophie and Caity – I am so happy to be apart of your day!

Sophie was my first friend and will always be my best! I can’t believe we have grown up together and are now getting to see each other get married. I will always remember how happy you were to introduce me to Caity. I can’t wait to see y’all live a long, wonderful, and prosperous life together. Let’s rage. Cheers :)

I met sophie in 2009 when i started at Yavneh. I originally became close with Sophie’s brother, Josh, and that’s how i met the fabulous Sophie! After spending so much time at their house Sophie became my little sister. I would drive her to school before she got her license and it was always the best time gossiping, teaching each other life lessons, and jamming to music. Fast forward to life now and i can’t wait to stand by her and Caitys side as they become forever. Their love for each other is contagious!!! They compliment each other in all the best ways and i wouldn’t want anyone other than Caity to tie the knot with Soph.
